My friends Roland Maennel (Zoo Leipzig) and Bernd Geidel (Zoo Dresden) from Germany had visited me and we travel in Laos, eastern and southern Thailand. Our first days we spent in  and around Khao Yai to see some wildlife like gaur, elephant and gibbons

Then we had a short stay in Kalasin province to see the bantengs in a wildlife sanctuary there.

We cross the Mekong river to Laos and stay there near Ban Nahin Khammouan province on a small road in the forest and use these place for the light trap but is was cold in the night and to dry so only some few insects came to the light.

Then we travel to the east near the Vietnam border but there was not much forest so we camp overnight in a paddy field with a small hill. There was still a rest of the forest. The night was also cold but foggy and i was surprised of some saturniid moths around the light trap.

After some days in Laos we travel back to Thailand and visit the south. Our first destination was Khao Sam Roi Yot, Prachuap Khiri Khan province.

We camped there on the beach and on day time we look for some wildlife like the dusky leaf monkey and some waterbirds.

The last days we stay in Kaeng Krachan, Prachuap Khiri Khan province. There we could see many wildlife like birds, dusky leaf monkeys, porcupine and some civet at night but also a big tortoise many squirrel and butterfly's and a Bengal monitor. Thanks to my friends for the support of these interesting trip.
